Diana Shipp Yoga Teacher
Diana, the owner of Kailasam Yoga in Kerala, has a teaching diploma from the British Wheel of Yoga. She also studied at the International Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Kerala, gaining a teaching diploma in January 2000.
She has been teaching yoga for over 30 years, and has lead holidays and retreats in different parts of the world, including the UK.
An experienced and compassionate teacher, Diana is both down-to-earth and imaginative as well as flexible in her teaching. Diana’s belief is that yoga is a spiritual practice – not about achieving gymnastic-style postures. It’s about going deeper and developing awareness, feeling the effects on your own body and mind. Feeling calm and centred.
She will help you experience this awareness, find out who you really are, and enjoy inner peace. Her classes include a mixture of limbering, posture work, breathing, meditation and deep relaxation.
“I try to ensure my retreats are inclusive and fun – as well as deep and powerful. I want you to go home feeling fabulous!”
Diana Shipp at Kailasam Yoga
Diana is happy to welcome people with all levels of experience to her holidays – from beginners to yoga teachers. But if you’re looking for ‘yoga boot camp’ this is not for you!
Sometimes you will find you are working strongly, improving your strength and flexibility, and always the emphasis is on awareness. The purpose of yoga is more mental than physical – calming the mind and Self-realisation as you find that still centre within.
